FAQ

Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

What is Human Trafficking?

Human trafficking is widely recognized as a form of modern day slavery. According to the Department of Homeland Security human trafficking involves the illegal trade of people for exploitation or commercial gain. Human trafficking is a hidden crime as victims rarely come forward to seek help because of language barriers, fear of the traffickers, and/or fear of law enforcement. Traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to lure their victims and force them into labor or commercial sexual exploitation.

What is Sex Trafficking?

Human sex trafficking is the buying or selling of another human being for a commercial sex act. That is, an exchange of anything of value for the sex act.

Where does human sex trafficking take place?

Sex trafficking is taking place in every state in the United States and around the world. The most common place to buy and sell a human is within a hotel.

What does Guardian Group do?

Guardian Group is committed to an aggressive, comprehensive approach in “Bringing the Fight to Human Trafficking.” We focus on networks specifically involved in sex trafficking, with the intent to gain an offensive advantage against this problem. We are devoted to attacking the demand side of human trafficking through public-private partnerships and development, education and training, and community engagement.

We’ve also partnered with leaders in the Hospitality Industry to develop a one-of-a-kind training program to benefit the hospitality and travel industries. Our Guardian Seal® Training program will equip hotel owners, managers & staff to recognize trafficking and will provide a plan of action to actually do something about it.
